Still Catching Up...

Avery had her 9 month check up on Monday, February 4th and her pediatrician confirmed that she is right on track with all of her developmental milestones and she was impressed by the vast variety of food that Avery happily eats.  Here is a little bit more about what all Avery is up to these days.

Length: 26.5 inches long

Weight: 15 pounds and 5 ounces

Clothing Size: 9 months

New Developments: We have teeth!!! Her bottom two teeth can now easily be seen and her top two have broken through the gums.  She seems to be having some discomfort in her gums so more teeth are probably on way.

Food: Oatmeal and pears continue to be a favorite.  Pureed chicken and apples were also a big hit.  Just today we tried a new combination that seemed to please as well: kiwi and baby hummus.  So, far Avery has enjoyed everything we have fed her except bananas and lentils.  Here's more of her recent foods:

Activities: Avery is still using the army crawl technique, although she has gotten much faster lately.  She is starting to pull herself up and climb over anything and everything.  If you assist her to her feet, she will cruise along the edge of the couch.  I have a feeling that she may not do much of the traditional crawling, but will begin walking before much longer.  She loves to bounce and swing in her Jenny Jumper and bouncer.  She has started to babble and will go on and on with her own little conversations.  The words that she has definitively said are "Dada and Mama" and we think she is saying "Dogdogg" too.  Her favorite word to say is "Dada".
