Finding our Groove

It is hard for me to believe but fall is here and Avery is just a week shy of 5 months old!  I was in denial about the impending season change because I am a summer girl and we had not yet had our family beach trip, so until this week fall was still a ways away in my mind.  The week after Labor Day we took our first annual family beach trip and had a wonderful vacation.  We stayed in a condo on Seabrook Island and hung out on the beach and we visited Charleston for a little day trip.  It was so nice to all relax together and I loved spending all day with Avery again.  This was even better than my maternity leave because Johnny was with us and we had some fun playing on the beach.  Seabrook was amazing and I think we may go back for vacation in the future!  I've included some photos from our vacation below.

Here's what is new with Avery at almost 5 months young:
  • Weight 11 lbs and 4 ozs and 23 inches long.  She's petite like her mama!
  • Lots of cooing, babbling and squealing.  She has learned to make raspberries by blowing out of her lips and it is her new favorite pastime.
  • Grabbing her feet while lying on her back and pulling them up to her chest.
  • Rolling over from her back to belly and then from her belly onto her back.  This still takes quite a bit of effort, but when she's in the mood she'll do it a few times.
  • She loves to pull on her ring and toys on her infant seat carrier.
  • She is still eating about every four hours from 7am-7pm, and we have introduced rice cereal and oatmeal at dinner time.  She takes one last bottle at 10pm and then sleeps until morning.
  • Avery loves for Daddy to read her a story before bedtime and she has started to enjoy her bath time as well.

I cannot believe what a content and happy little baby I have!  She is such a joy and we feel very blessed.
